Agency Workers Directive

The Agency Workers Directive is a piece of European legislation which became law on 5th December 2008. All EU member states have 3 years from that date to implement the Directive via their own national legislation. In Ireland, the Directive will be implemented via the Protection of Employees Act 2011 (“the Act”).  The Bill was signed by the President of Ireland on Wednesday 16th May 2012 and will be retrospective from the 5th of December 2011.
